6 Signs You May Be Dating a Psycho

We've all got a teeny bit of psycho in us. But the line between going ga-ga for someone and becoming completely delusional about the boundaries of the relationship is a fine one.

We've all got a teeny bit of psycho in us. But the line between going ga-ga for someone and becoming completely delusional about the boundaries of the relationship is a fine one.

If your newest fling's behavior is starting to give you a serious case of the heebie-jeebies and you wonder where the glowing personality went that you met on the first date, you may have hitched up with a psycho.

From bunny-boiling to phone-tapping, incessant emails to branding-style scratched initials in your back, there's a lot to be afraid of. Herewith, six signs your honey is half-baked.

Communication Overload

There's a difference between an eager beaver and a psychotic partner. An eager beaver calls you once and leaves all their phone numbers and email addresses so you can find them when you get the urge to reach out. A wacko calls all of your numbers and sends messages to all of your email addresses -- all day and every day. And the more time that passes between live interaction with a psycho, the more nutsy the notes and messages become. "Hey, it's me" morphs into "I've called 12 times...where are you?" and finally "Pick up the phone or I swear I'm gonna boil the bunny."

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

The fibs seem harmless at first; they may even be confused or couched as miscommunications. But psycho partners lie incessantly in an attempt to control you. So what starts as lies about small things, like liver also being his favorite food (so that it looks like you two are so similar you must be soul mates) escalates into elaborate fabrications about him needing your emotional support because he's just discovered that he has an identical twin brother whose cancerous liver will self-implode without a transfusion of your lover's genetically matched blood. Beware the contradictions, the overabundance of justifying details, the well-timed dramas.

Stalk Talk

Don't be fooled by the cliché image of a trenchcoat-clad dude running from telephone pole to telephone pole as he follows his victim home from the bar. Stalking girlfriends and boyfriends come in all shapes and sizes (and outfits). And their techniques are many: from blatantly setting up tent and bonfire on your front stoop to see what time you get home, to "coincidentally" planting themselves in public places they know you'll frequent -- your neighborhood porn shop, your synchronized swimming class, the recycling room in the basement of your building. Don't discount the idea of your phone being tapped if it seems your lover knows secrets you've shared only with friends over the phone. If you're starting to get that creepy "being watched" feeling and have actually found yourself wondering how the witness protection program works, you've probably made allies with a lunatic.

Scarred Out Of Your Wits?

Some guys like it when a girl draws blood from his back with her French manicured nails. And some girls, when doing the doggy, like to be spanked till their buttocks burn pink. But if the recipient of said "passionate" punishment isn't the one getting off, this kind of thing falls under the category of branding. As in, "This is my man and I've created a hickey self-portrait on his neck to show you that he's taken."

Mine, Mine, Mine!

We've all felt moments of jealousy in our lives. And that's probably a good thing -- a little bit of envy keeps us on our toes. But there's jealousy, and then there's jealousy of the paranoid variety. Imagine this: you can't look at anyone of the opposite sex, let alone talk to them, without your partner freaking out. And that's just with strangers (read: I know you're cheating on me with your doorman because you always say "hello"). Classic psycho jealousy behavior also pertains to, god forbid, ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends -- even pals and family members. In other words, to a psycho, everyone is a threat.

Pay attention to ME

A psycho needs constant attention, and if that need isn't met, all hell breaks loose. Does your girlfriend fall to the ground in a pretend faint so that you have to stay home and take care of her rather than hit the pub with your friends on a BNO? Does your boyfriend hold your hand or perform other PDAs (public displays of affection) only when other males are around? You see, it's all about control and having power over you and the relationship. Psychos want to know everything (snooping is classic behavior and these dating duds seem to have eyes on the backs of their heads), and many may assume that you're in a committed relationship just because you made it through a first date.

Caveat

Of course we jest. In real life, stalking, obsessive phone calling and other possessive behavior is not cool. And at all not funny. If you suspect you are being stalked or are otherwise being harassed by a former or current partner, don't hesitate to call or visit your local police. And if you are facing an emergency, dial 911.

Happy New Year

Horoscope Febrary 18th 2007- daily extended
The level of romance in your life is about to go up, up, up! The sky's the limit when it comes to the amount of chemistry between you and a very special someone. Most of the explanation can be found in your brimming confidence -- people who have a strong sense of self are very attractive to others. Your creativity is also extremely appealing, so use it to convey your feelings in an unexpected (and very flattering) way. This is a period of new beginnings and exciting conversations.

Dear Semanthie,
Here is your horoscope
for Sunday, February 18:

If you want it, you can have it. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. The first step to achieving success is learning to want the right thing, then being able to visualize it. Go ahead and use your imagination.

An update

Posted on 2007.01.19 at 08:39
So I thought I'd update this thingy, before class.

A lot has happened. I went away for two weeks BY myself, to a beautiful and hot island in the dutch caribbean. Where i had an awesome time. I turned 23, I've worked my last shift at Rogers Video Store 337 on Dec. 31 (yes new year's eve). So now I am gainfully unemployed and its driving me crazy. What else, hmm....I'm currently fighting with OSAP again, im hoping to get this situation resolved and get the rest of my money before april which would be nice. And there are some more stuff that has happened but i will not disclose here...

I also got facebook, which is a whole new world of stuff, like livejournal but posting on ppl's walls and little itty bitty techical stuff which I'm still getting use too. So yes, a little techincal.

And since I'm not working, i've starting scouting for good volunteer sites. I got an interview with the George Hull Center for children and families on Tuesday morning. Then i'll had in my application to Truillum and other various places. I am a little excited:D

I've started writing again, but little bits of papers all over my room and in my books. I had forgotten how good it can be just to write something, lyrics or otherwise. Not getting caught up  in the daily rushes of "here".

So that's about it...and this which i stole off of B's journal....which will probably sum up what i've already said......

I'm A MOON!!!

Current Music: Call me when ur sober- E

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?

Sexual selection and Biology of Sex class

Yes i am rambling, its on my mind and frankly i need to ramble it somewhere.

What is it about sexual selection that makes it so interesting? I just came back from my Nat sci class and We just watched the pilot epi for "Sex and the City." Which is approiate since we are talking about mating and picking specific mates.

Is it possible for women to be like men and have sex with out the emotional, messy string attachment? possibly. I assume it would depend on your past experinces in relationships with the oppoiste or same sex.

As far i as know personally, many people like who they like. It cannot be helped. No matter what. Sometimes it not desireable for many people (aka friends) but right then in "pining" for that certian person will possibly make or break you.  You then classify ur self on a certain level, decided whether or not a person is within your "league" or "market value" (see psych is fun). It natural to do so, but it aslo varies. What then? Start all over again. It seems like an endless cycle

So what about human mating strategies...(i'm getting this from the lecture), you know things that you do to make yourself an impossible fool to try and impress someone (this doesn't apply to everyone...captian waffles).  Playing hard to get, online dating. For example, ladies there is a site you can go to www. wealthymen.com which is exteremly funny and sugardaddy.com for finding wealthy men or wealty men wanting to find attractive women.

Down to the nitty gritty, it could just about sex. The natural need to reproduce and get off.  Which is probably why so many songs titled "I don't need a man", "i Belong to Me," granted are pop songs but all say something.

So what do men want from a sociobiology view: succussful reproduction, faithfulness, physically attractive and healty for bearing offspring. For women: reprocutive men, physcially attractive, and many resources (income, education etc.)...damn. seems so techinal.

So sex and the city intresting show, kind of makes you think just a little of what your currently doing for personal relationships. If having relationships with out emotional string is benefical if so, are you able to do it?

On the other hand of all this stuff, if and when you fall in love, its a whole new experience, some good and some bad. Sometimes you choose and most of the time you don't.

So why is it that women find men so fustrating? and men find women fustrating?

So I'm feeling a little odd, possibly because i didn't sleep well and well weird dreams. And conflicted male issues. Which gets more complicated by the minute and it really shouldn't. What i should do is cut my losses, eat a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream, watch an "Affair to Remember" or "the Notebook" and be done with it. *sigh*

Sometimes i realize, the thing u want most is the thing you cannot have. And what your give in return is not may not be what u want but is the best thing that can happen to you. But this hasn't happen to me as yet...i think.

And in other news....BONNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

ok now i go and get coffee.

You date like you are 19 years old.

You are a good dater. You still haven't narrowed down exactly what type of person you want to date, but you have a lot of experience with dating and like to have fun with it.

From not so socially retarded journal I thought it was a funny title. If you’ve watched grey’s life is pretty much similar to that. I know its completely delusion to think such a think but the phrase “ they are socially retarded 17 year olds in high school running around with scaples” kinda relates to something. Why am I writing this? I do have a purpose. Which I will not express at this time, because like many that I know, I tend to over think and beat myself up on the what if’s should have’s and could’ve. Why? Because it’s the most female thing to do, and I generalize because I’m part of this female population. I’m writing this in my natural sci class “sexual selection” from a biology perspective….why we have sex? Interesting eh? Mating asexually, heterosexually etc. etc…I do hope I’m not going the Bridget Jones route…in the entry. But I need to rant or ramble about things or nothing, don’t mind me. I’m trying to work some things out in my mind. So I’m thinking…. A lot. Of what will happen and what won’t. Like I said I’m over- thinking. I am going to try to save money for my trip next summer. Which is going to be tight…so I am wondering if it’ll happen. Maybe I’ll go somewhere different this time, Spain or Italy, France…somewhere. Hmm…lion cubs…killed by lion who isn’t the father and take over pride…geez. Apollo butterfly are lucky to get once…the anaconda…one lucky lady…blue- footed booby birds no strings attached. Anyway, the discussion in class… -What do men look for? In women or other men - what do females look for? In men or other women - what are mating strategies of the sexes? - other issues (e.g. how do the above change with age?) Answer these questions and I’ll give u a prize…maybe. Now people are deliberating conversing and thinking, chuckling here and there….it’s quite intense. Reporting from the side-lines right in the thick of it…do im going a little overboard, I blame the hot chocolate I had with whipped crème. Yum. Since my class is almost over in about 30mins I think I might walk square one a bit, I need to do some pre-shopping. If you’ve haven’t notice from this entry which is all over the place, that is essential how my mind is working this very minute. Nice eh? Alrighty, time to go…this discussion is getting interesting now :P

Bon tardi dushi! ('s)

I thought i would post something since i have lots of time before my next class and not willing to read any of the two books that cost me close to $300 right now...so here i am. i probably should

I realized that i;ve missed quite a lot when you dont read the LJ"s for a while. SO what's new with me?

My trip was awesome!!!! I had 16 days of extreme hot weather and sun. Curacao is so beautiful, i think i'll go back next summer once i save enough money. I miss it a lot and my family very much.  I'm not quite the same person i was before i left for my trip, but its a good thing. I am in a much better mood and much more postive about this year. I feel light and happy just for being me.

As for school, this year will be my last year (hopefully)...well that's what i am aiming for. My schedule seems to be working out so i have tuesday and thursdays off, but work seems to schedule me for any avaiable moment...so i have to books some days off just to make sure that im not killing myself working. On that topic of work, i am looking for another job, and i mean seriously looking...

But other than that im good and glowing.

Now i should probably read...stats...for the love me...i hope im not an imposter

Danke. :D
